Day 15: One Another

You get a call about the accident and you rush down to the hospital.  As you enter the waiting room you see the worry and fear on the faces of family and friends.  You would do anything to comfort and bring peace, but what can you really do?

You try to conceal your shock at the news.  Your spouse was fired today.  You see the embarrassment and disappointment on their face.  What can you do when it’s not in your power to change the situation?

You take deep breath as you see the images of devastation.  A tornado ripped through the town just down the road.  Buildings and livelihoods destroyed, but what can you really do?

What do you do when someone is dealing with a significant problem? How can you help when the problem is bigger than you are?  God instructs us to pray.  Prayer is the most significant and loving action we can take on behalf of someone else.   Who do you know that is going through a challenging time in their life?  Let’s spend today lifting them up in prayer.

Scriptures

Luke 11:5-10 ESV
And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. 9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."
