When It Rains

When It Rains

by Steve
For the past few weeks, our global partners in Sudan have been experiencing an unseasonable amount of rainfall. The heavy rains are flooding gardens and toppling structures. Sun-dried clay bricks are disintegrating and homes are collapsing.

Our friends are asking us to join them in prayer. Many are now finding themselves homeless with food and clothing destroyed in the flooding. Global partner, Paul, shared earlier this week,

“There is a house falling every hour in the IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) Camp. They are miserable thinking about what to do. Seven people died yesterday from falling buildings. More heavy rain is expected.”
There is little we can tangibly do as rains continue to come. Paul did share that children and the elderly are particularly suffering during this time. Mosquito nets ($4) and plastic sheets (tarps; $12) can be purchased to temporarily provide some shelter and relief from mosquitos which are increasing with the rains.

Join us in prayer for safety and provision for those suffering from these heavy rains.

Pray for the church to be generous in sharing God’s love with those who are looking for answers.
